v3.5.2
Released March 7, 2025

Improvements to Super Focus in the Cloud

We’ve made several updates to improve the Super Focus in the Cloud experience, making it more seamless and user-friendly. These changes aim to streamline the workflow, improve usability, and provide better visibility when processing images in the cloud.

For users who don’t have cloud credits, we’ve added a Buy Credits button directly within the Super Focus workflow, making it easier to purchase and continue rendering without interruption.

We’ve also added upload and download progress indicators, so you can track the status of your images as they are processed in the cloud, eliminating any guesswork about when your file will be ready.

Additionally, Focus Boost is now handled locally before the image is uploaded for cloud processing. This helps decrease file size before sending the file, decreasing the upload time and the processing time as well.

Raw Denoise now Grid Free on Apple Silicon

We’ve made a major improvement to RAW Denoise on Apple Silicon devices, eliminating the grid artifacts that could appear in certain images. If you’ve noticed unwanted grid patterns in dark backgrounds, skies, or soft/blurry areas, this update is for you.

Previously, these artifacts could make the output unusable, especially in images with smooth gradients or low-contrast areas. With this update, RAW Denoise now produces significantly cleaner results, preserving natural textures and delivering more reliable noise reduction.

This improvement does come with a slight increase in processing time, but the trade-off is a much higher-quality final result.

Changelog

  • Add buy credit button to Super Focus when user has no credits
  • Add image upload and download progress to cloud processing
  • Handle focus boost locally before uploading image to cloud processing
  • Significant improvement for Raw Denoise grid artifact on Apple Silicon devices

Well, all that’s left is to test this update when I have new photos to process .

Pure Raw → Capture One → Photoshop → Gigapixel Redefine Creativity 1 (actual beta) (in focus area only 50% opacity), Gigapixel Hifi V2 (Background, and focus area, (Base Layer)), TPAI 3.5.1 Super Focus Beta (only in focus area opacity 50%).

Cut out your point of interest to bring down compute time and cost.

Hifi V2 only)

Original after Pure Raw and Capture One.

Just out of curiosity, what is the basic resolution of this photo?

Using the in-app update method (release highlights missing, date is different as well):

Where are the models?

That was quick, hmm! Seemed to work though.

Release notes (4 bullet points) have been restored to the in-app update screen, but the Community Notes link incorrectly points to the Video AI topics list page instead of this PAI version release page. I’m holding off on updating because I’m not sure I trust it!

You find it in the lower left corner.

I may be missing something but I find the 3rd photo with Pure Raw and Capture One the best

Small glitch with button text overlapping in v3.5.2 - bottom right hand corner

TPAI-v3.5.2 overlapping text RHS bottom corner

I see. I didn’t get a good look last time hahaha.
I’d thought it would be at least double that, like 48 or 50 megapixels.
Because the details aren’t bad.

In my opinion, it would be with your screen resolution, because on a 1920x1080 screen with a 61-inch diagonal, I don’t have any overlap problems.

Also, are you on Windows 10 or Windows 11? It may have nothing to do with it, but you never know.

The photo stays the same, only the resolution was increased.

Thats because of redefine and superfocus.

You need more detail at resolution increases above 50%.

Redefine does create new pixels.

I hope that it will be become much better this year.

Thank you for fixing the grid artifacts in raw denoise for M1 Max

Sorry I don’t understand your comment or your math ?
I’m using a Samsung 43" TV which works fine with a Gigabyte RTX4070 Super 12GB VRAM @ 4096x2160px and a 2nd screen Dell UltraScan 25" @2560x1440px - Windows 10 ASUS PC.
They work together just fine with everything, Topaz, LrC, PS, CaptureOne etc.

The Topaz side panel menus are fixed size and position - they cannot be moved or scaled as far as I can see so I think the overlap is just being due to the higher button tool tip being shown at an incorrect position. Not a critical issue but at normal screen viewing distance one cannot read the button text easily.

Make sure to send this screenshot alongside your logs and system profile to support@topazlabs.com and we can troubleshoot this screen misalignement of the suggestion question that we see in your screenshot

Logs: To gather logs, open Photo AI and go to the menu bar on the top and go to Help > Open Log Folder. >> Grab all the files in that folder and Zip them into 1 folder, and attach this zipped folder to the email.

Reminder that per Lingyu in his Releases notes:

Make sure to send us an email at Support with your issue. This helps us keep a tab on the volume of issues to prioritize fixes faster.

Thanks for flagging this!

Both the Releases notes and Community link should now be fixed.

Checked with the development team for the blank AI Model screen and it is expected behavior, and it’s verifying the integrity of the models, if any model is missing or new model installing, the download progress bar would appear. This patch did not have any new models and there was no missing models on your end so it will stay blank and install the other fixes.

Works very well on very high ISO photos (3200 ISO) with my Galaxy S25 Ultra indoors in a dark room.
Noise was removed very well without loss of detail.

Curious if in Denoise’s controls, if you boost the Original Details Slider if it keeps a bit more info/less smooth look in some parts? Great recovery as is nonetheless! :raised_hands:
