That may be the only option for this release on your system is to roll back.
But, contact support via the main website too (vs just in this user forum ) & provide them with your system specs so the tech team knows to diagnose possible issues in that serup.
I clicked on the tab stating that an update was available. Then nothing happened. In the upper right corner, there is an notice to begin install. I click it and Topaz goes away back to my PC home screen.
Did you try to download the update from the top of this thread? Is that the tab you’re referring to?
Don’t use in app updates. People consistently have issues doing that.
I attempted to update as I’ve done many times. I opened the program, noted that updates were available and I clicked on it then nothing. At the top right where the aforementioned “Updates Available” was noted then has “Install Now”. When I click on it, the program closes.
Please try what I’ve noted above …
Do not install from inside the app if it’s not working. Even if you’ve done it in the past.
Try downloading an installer from the top of this thread or the Product Releases tab in this forum.
If the installer from here (vs. in app) doesn’t work for your system, I suggest you contact Topaz Labs Support at their main website and share your system specs with them to troubleshoot. There’s an option to “Chat” or email them there. They will prompt you to share your system specs.
It is working, just done it today.
No problems with the installation, it works.
Issue with editing iPhone portrait photos in Apple Photos on Mac “Unable to save changes” is still not fixed in this update.
Love that HEIC/HEIF files are working now. Still having issues on bulk saves. It’s been ongoing for months. Weird. No issues when saving one at a time.
I’ve just done an incredible test with Photo AI. Basically, the “Remove” tool is for deleting objects in the image. Here, I’ve just used it in a roundabout way to do a “generative fill” on an area where a piece of tree trunk was missing due to a faulty assembly of my final image for my ponorama. After 2 brushstrokes, it recreated the missing piece really well.
The end result is really striking. He’s managed to reconstruct the rest of the bench in a very clean way, taking into account light and shadow.

Please remind me of the received wisdom when updating…?
In version 2.1.3 GUI I can update with a very modest sized download.
However, I have downloaded the newest Full installer from my account portal

Photo AI 2.1.4-DNG files returning to LR from AI are again setting LR Calibration to V1 (V6 is current). You had this fixed for awhile.
Whenever I try the Remove tool, it shows “Compiling Models” in the status area under the thumbnail in the top right of the screen.
This takes a long time - if I don’t do anything then it is still compiling an hour later.
According to Task Manager, this is all on the GPU, and not the CPU. (Slightly ironic, as my GPU doesn’t have enough memory to use the GPU to process the remove).
Although I can mask an area while it is doing this compile, I can’t do the remove. It lets me press the Remove button, and the caption in the button changes to ‘Removing’ and the rotating circle shows in the button, but it is still doing the compile. When the compile finally finishes, then the remove also says it has finished, but it has done nothing. I have to press it again to do the remove.
However by trying to do a remove, it seems to do something to the compile, and it finishes compiling after a couple more minutes.
This is every time I start the remove tool on a new photo.
Remove is slow enough already without having to do this compilation. I can’t remember seeing this compile on earlier versions, but I don’t use it much. I use it even less now.

Mein Eindruck: Durch die ständige Implementierung neuer (AI-)basierter Funktionen werden Forderungen nach Stabilität vernachlässigt. Es werden zu viele Module hinzugefügt, die am Ende zusammengenommen, nicht mehr beherrschbar sind. Schließlich kommt der Frust und eine Arbeit mit anderen Programmen ist dann leider die bessere (=schnellere) Wahl. Ich bin kein Programmierer. Ich erwarte von einem Hersteller, dass sein Produkt grundsätzliche Spezifikationen erfüllt.
Is it a known issue that the remove tool doesn’t work on an Intel Mac with an AMD gpu? Will it ever?
It seems that the different Models in Sharpen shows that the models used in Photo AI are simply not suitable for processing images with motion blur/out of focus. See here the result from Sharpen AI, needed to revert selection to Normal from Very Blurry and reduce Remove Blur from 46 to 25:
Now the result from Photo AI, selects Motion Blur but even at a setting of 12 it is way to strong:
AND, why are we opening Linear DNG’s and applying a lighting profile other than linear? The format should be respected.
Same here ‘cab1.cab’ is corrupt and cannot be used???
It was fixed last Thursday - just download the installer again
Starting from version 1.5 (including the latest 2.1.4), the engine re-initializes and processes a second time, doubling the time taken compared to the 1.4.x version. I have put a video in dropbox.
