Topaz Photo AI v2.1.1

I was under the impression that the new versions of PAI included a fix for the dreaded square artifacts? For me, I still see them with PAI 2.1.1. Please see the screenshot below. This is a texture for a 3D model. It’s especially visible since there are reflections on the surface and they pick up all the tiny surface irregularities. Is this problem going to be addressed?

And exotic butterflies are even more beautiful

But far far away from me.

Given their track record, I wouldn’t rule out a future merge of TPAI and TVAI to create a new TPVAI - with all development and updates on TPAI and TVAI stopping but still being sold, or bundled at extra cost. Not a good look for any company.

I can observe TPAI v2.1.1 crashing during painting the mask for the Remove tool, usually when I operate at the bottom of the image and accidentally ‘venture’ too far down or left/right with the painting (out of screen). Immediate crash.
So, painting a mask in the lower left or right corner of the image has proven to be ‘risky’.

All this on Win10 22H2, RTX 3090 on 546.01 Studio driver.

Perhaps closer to Black Friday or Cyber Monday they’ll offer the royal “you” (as in everyone…) a great incentive renewal deal for another year…

I can confirm this also on the Mac.

Ohh… that actually happened to me one time when I moved the brush a bit to far out of the subject but I didn’t think much of it at the time.

I was offered a renewal for another year at $74 as a Black Friday deal but, given that the stand-alone apps are not being updated I shan’t be taking up the offer. As an aside can anybody tell me why Topaz are not offering Photo AI outside of the Photoplus bundle including the stand-alone apps that are not being updated. I circulated the Black Friday link to my camera club members who were disappointed to see that they had to buy the whole bundle at $199! Not a good intro to Topaz!!

It is on sale for $74 now. Go to your product page and click on the upgrade just to the left of the Topaz Photo AI product.

Ok. hahaha :joy:

If you have some of the products already, you should get a discount or even get PAI free, depending on which ones you have.

I agree it is disappointing that the stand alone products are not being updated anymore. Some people just want a few plug-ins, such as DeNoise and Sharpen.

I’m curious to see if they will fix the CLI problem in 2.1.2, it’s been two releases now that the bug is there. And technically it should be pretty simple to fix. But so far I haven’t even gotten a response after reporting it two versions ago…
A bit of feedback now and then wouldn’t hurt.

Therefore, to be honest, Black Friday isn’t really on my mind right now…

As devs have commented, it’s not recommended to download unpublished linked versions, there is no guarantee you are getting the final release ready version.

Yes sometimes it was not final.

Ok… that is messed up. If I do it from my account pages I get this:

But on the other hand - if I click buy from Topaz Photo AI - Maximize Image Quality with AI (topazlabs.com)

I get this:

Notice the difference… neither end date on the cheap option, nor a mention of the Standalone Apps…

So I guess the question is… will I lose just under two weeks and the remote posibility that the Standalone Apps get an update by going for the cheaper option?

I too want to know if Gigapixel AI, Denoise AI and Sharpen AI are going to get new updates before I renew them. These apps haven’t gotten new updates for almost a year now.

No. These are legacy products.

Interesting. Sharpen AI still gives me better results than Photo AI. It would be great if Topaz could port the much better sharpen algorithms from Sharpen AI to Photo AI.

I just want to make sure you are clicking the right place. Again go to your account > My Products

If that is what you did then you might email support. Good luck.

You last picture shows renewal which should add a year on your present account.
