I cannot install Topaz Photo AI. Everytime I try I get a dialog box saying “The installation failed.” I am attaching a screen shot. I looked at the support community. I have set the “installer” to full disk access in System Settings. Files and Folders now says Full Disk Access, but no luck. Please help.
The exact same thing is happening to me. I am on Mac OS 13.5.1. The problem started when I began using my new August 2023 Apple Studio desktop computer which uses the Apple-produced M2 chip, instead of my 2015 Intel-based Apple computer. I am worried since I use Topaz products every day for my photos. Please advise!
I am also on Mac OS 13.5.1. I use an Apple Studio Mac with a M1 chip.
First, please disable antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy that may be on your computer. These are known to block the installer from downloading the model files.
Run the installer again. Once the installation finishes or fails, do not close the installer window and follow the steps below to send me the installer logs.
- While the installer window is open, click the following menu on the top of your screen, Window > Installer Log.
- Click the dropdown menu on the top bar and select “Show All Logs”.
- Then save the file and attach it to your reply here.
Here’s a video with instructions on how to get the logs. I should be able to determine exactly what is happening here with this information.
Thank you for the help, Lingyu. I am currently traveling and this is the failed installation log from my MacBook Air. My main computer at home is a Mac Studio. I will send you that log when I return. Here you go.

Installer Log 7-Sep-2023.txt (10.1 KB)
The logs indicate that your installer is stored in Dropbox cloud storage. Please follow the instructions in this video to move the installer out of the cloud storage.
Some of the installer functions do not run if the installer is in the cloud. By moving the installer file to your computer hard drive it should work.
Thank you, Lingyu. You were correct. Moving the installer out of cloud storage allowed it to complete. I appreciate your help.
