Any image with compression like this would not work well with High Fidelity. High Fidelity is meant to upscale high-resolution images without changing them. For example, if you want to upscale a photo from a recent camera, you wouldn’t want all the generated details as it would add 'ā€œartifactsā€

The generative tools work better in cases like this one. You can also try the Low-res model

This is a known issue, the status are not related correctly in the new version. Currently it’s best to ignore those and let the process finish. It will show an error if it’s failing

I agree, the SLHQ’s use case is as you describe, But I was tempted to try, test and show the results for you and the users to evaluate.

I’m so sorry. In my short testing, I didn’t notice this option. However, there is a difference. In the old GP there were 6 levels of creativity, in the new GP there are only 4.

Redefine Creativity 1-6 in old versions are now displayed as:
Redefine realistic: None, Subtle (1,2)
Redefine creative: Low, Medium, High, Max (3,4,5,6)

@alexandre.topazlabs, could you pass to the dev team to include WEBP as selectable output image format, like it’s in Photo, pretty please?

In addition to the brilliant Alexandre’s very helpful information the Six Levels you are referring to are still there.

Redefine was introduced in Topaz Gigapixel version 8 with Six Levels of Creativity however, people kept asking why was there such a big jump in creativity between Levels Two and Three if their only strength levels

That’s because, they won’t actually Creativity strength Levels they were in actual fact Six different AI Models grouped together as Levels One to Six.

Therefore, in version 8.4 Redefine was effectively split up into two separate options Realistic and Creative Modes, Realistic had the first two AI Models now called None & Subtle and Creativity had the other Four now called Low, Med, High and Max.

So, nothing has been taken away it’s still all there only the designation and names have been changed

Hope this helps
