I use the preserve text function and it absolutely does not work in this latest version. The program is so slow it is unusable. No problem with previous versions. Really sloppy programming. Look likes it’s time to move on.

Up to version 2.3.2 the text recognition worked well, now text recognition does not seem to make any change compared to using no text recognition. See added screenshots.
