[RESOLVED WITH V3.3.2] - Canon R5 Mark II Currently Not Supported | v3.2.0 and below

If we had to wait a year, that would be pretty insane. Yeah, as other said, there is a workaround, but still… yeah this is pretty bad.

Canon R5 mk2 still not supported - can we have a refund for all the weeks/months we cannot use the product we have paid for?

Guess at renewal time will not be renewing as this is a ridiculous situation that Topaz has punted on!! If you rely on someone that cannot update a very popular camera in a short time, your software is vulnerable to issue beyond your control and not reliable. Reviews on DXO Photolab 8 suggest we all should be migrating there. No problem opening a Canon R5 MII file there!

Canon R5 mk2 still not supported - can we have a refund for all the weeks/months we cannot use the product we have paid for?

Is anyone from Topaz going to post an update as to when R5mkII support is expected?

Someone posted on another forum that v3.3.0 supports the R5 II, and indeed the image looks correct and corrections seem to be applied. However, after I tried it I got an error message “Error: DNG write error”. Does anyone know if it is just me or if this version does or does not support the R5 II?

Although the release notes did not include Canon camera updates, I was excited to see that it now processes the R5 II files, but I also have the DNG write error message.

Getting this error after opening a Canon R5ii .CR3 file, applying recommendations and trying to export.
Only seems to be my latest pics. Only had camera a week but earlier files save OK
Tiff’s save no problem.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1 Drop R5ii .cr3 file into Photoai
  2. Step 2 Allow recommended edits
  3. Step 3 Export as dng with standard settings

Get Error DNG write error and file not saved.
Have to re-start Photo AI to allow me to switch to save as Tiff

Hope the screen clip views OK

Note to say sent as requested. Appreciate possibly my hardware but other stuff works with PhotoAI and other files from Canon R5ii too.
Other problem is seems to create dull files from RAWs. I know raws are duller than jpg but if import into Photo Raw does not happen

DNG error issue

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. export from LRC via “Process with Topaz AI”
  2. export back to Adobe LRC
  3. error

I’ve just update Photo AI to 3.3.1. I’ve sharpened the subject on a Canon R5 Mk II CR raw file.

When exporting the result as a DNG file, I consistently get a DNG write error.

ERROR: DNG Write Error

  1. open CR3 file (from my Canon R5ii
  2. make some edits

The file is saved as at tiff file?!?

If you can take a screen recording of this behavior so I can see exactly what is happening, it will be helpful to ensure that we can replicate the workflow you are using to investigate.

Loom is a great free application for this: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording

John - I put a file into your drop but it does not seem to be file specific as far as I can tell

But something else odd is happening. Last night I was opening my CR3 files (from a Canon R5ii) and then denoising and/or sharpening. Then I’d click on the export button and select dng in the format dropdown. When I clicked Export, the file saved with a .tiff extension

Today when I do the same thing, I get a DNG write error?!?
I open the file, choose denoise

and sharpen
image

Then export:

The message changes to processing:
image

Then exporting:
image

And then the error:

Let me know if you want anything else from me

I just added the log file to your dropbox as well.
In the log, I tried to save as DNG (and failed) saved as a TIFF (successfully) and then tried to save as a DNG again (also failed)

I cannot replicate the issue that I first reported (i.e., the file saving as a TIFF even though DNG was selected in the dialog.

Hello, does Topaz work with Canon R5 Mark II CR3 raw files? My old version gave a pink screen and would not save, so I upgraded to 3.4 and now the screen isn’t pink, but still get an error when I try to export back to Lightroom. Error: DNG write error

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3
