I just downloaded for trial. I took photos in Nikon Z50II with NEF in AdobeRGB color space. I can be shown in other software correctly. But when I import to Photo AI, it show some process in the right panel, but no photo is shown. I imported another photo and there are thumbnails shown but the main panel still does not show anything.
Steps to reproduce issue:
Import a raw file from Nikon Z50 II (.NEF) High Efficiency RAW. The top left shown RAW and file name correctly.
No preview is shown (only black screen). Thumbnail is shown correctly.
Other files, such as JPEG are shown correctly. Only Nikon NEF file is not shown.
Topaz Photo AI [v3.3.3] on Mac.

Can you send a native raw file for this to our Dropbox
I can then test this file and open a ticket with the development team for its support. Since this is not a supported camera yet, can you also test if a DNG copy of this file works? Either from import in LrC (COPY AS DNG) option or with the free Adobe DNG Converter.
Let me know when the file is sent on Drobbox as well!
Currently, Topaz Photo AI doesn’t seem to have support for Nikon Z50II RAW NEF files. The processing window just shows a black screen. Any plans to implement support for Z50II raw files in the near future?
When the Canon R5II was released, Topaz had the same delayed support issue. It was learned that Topaz uses the open source project, LibRaw (https://www.libraw.org), for their raw file support (Lensfun for lenses). Once LibRaw has a profile for the Z50II, Photo AI will likely have support. Reliance on volunteer developers of an open-source project means Topaz products will likely wait longer for support of new cameras and lenses than other companies that develop the profiles themselves.
In MAC OS Lightroom (14.0.1) attempting to open Nikon Z50ii .NEF file using the /File/Plug-in Extras menu approach [to get a .DNG file rather than a .TIF file), Topaz AI (3.5.0), I get an unsupported file type error. Works fine using the right-click/Edit In menu (which forces a conversion to a .tif file). Works OK when topaz AI opened as a self-standing app.
its saves out of the standalone? good thing itf it does! Until this is a supported camera, for it to export back to LrC, you will have to import into LrC and choose the COPY AS DNG option. Then use the file path, and it will come back normally! We will resolve this thread once supported.
Circling back to let you know we have released Photo AI v3.6.1, which now fully supports the RAW files from your Nikon Z50 Mark II camera. You can forego the previous DNG workaround and edit the native RAW files directly with Photo AI or its plugins.
