yes that is indeed what I’m using the software to do… upres footage.

2023 M3 Max laptop running OS 15.5

It sounds like you are upscaling past what the currently selected Codec or Container can handle. Try swapping the codec to H265 on the Codec Settings tab as the default H264 tops out at 4k resolution limits.
