Remove Tool Artifacts

From time to time when using the removal tool, after completing the task an outline artifact appears around the target area. I’ve attached two screen grabs that show an example.

I exported the image and confirmed the artifact was written to the high-res file, to confirm that it wasn’t simply a problem with the preview window. I can supply the full-resolution file if that would be helpful.

I’ve seen this a few times and didn’t save any of those examples.

My current fix is to use the remove tool on the artifact itself, which fixes the issue, but the artifact shouldn’t be created in the first place.
