Problem to erase a part of picture. The object selection is poorly cut out

. want to remove the background from my photo, with Photo AI ver: 3.3.0

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1 I select object which turns backgroumd in orange, then start the deletion
  2. Step 2 it takes a good half hour and the cut-out object is poorly deleted.
  3. Step 3 then Topaz continues to run for another half hour and I stop working.

i try to send you a printscreen to how poorly its cut-out, but no way !!!

Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]

The Remove Object tool in Photo AI is not intended for full background removal. Instead, it’s designed to blend smaller removed areas with the surrounding image. For complex background removals, this tool may not deliver the desired results, as it’s best suited to removing specific objects and filling in with surrounding textures.

If background removals are essential, we recommend using a dedicated tool designed explicitly for that purpose, as it will provide a more precise and faster outcome.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for answer, but I see a problem, when you select the background it get completely orange that’s mean you cannt select small part of it. In fact its not so useful as mentioned by other customer! It would be good to just have a pencil small and large till the limit of efficiency it can assure.

And more when you start removing, it fill up a big part of memory and block my PC. Too heavy even with 32 Go!

A bit disappointed from what it promise.

Can you test this as a first step:

  1. Open Photo AI, and before importing any files, go to Edit > Preferences > General

  2. In the AI Processor drop-down, change the Auto to CPU.

  3. Import a file and process it.
