Photoshop TiFF & PSD files

I’m not able to process PhotoShop psd or tiff files, either RGB or LAB, in Photo AI, Sharpen or DeNoise by dragging the file from the finder. I get different error messages depending on the app but the general message is the file can’t be handled. In one trial, flattening the image didn’t help.

Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]

I don’t believe you can drag a Photoshop psd file into any of the Topaz apps, and for good reason. From inside Photoshop, select the LAYER that you want to process (I always make a copy of the layer so that the Topaz alterations can be undone) then go to Filter->Topaz Labs->Photo AI. When you save from Photo AI, it will update that layer. If a TIFF file is for example a Photoshop TIFF with more than one layer, you’ll have no joy dragging that directly into either Photo AI or other apps, for the same reason. You would need to open such a TIFF in Photoshop and either follow the same procedure as above with one layer OR collapse it into one layer then save it OR save it as a copy to preserve the layers in the original.

None of the applications support PSD as they can contain many layers aside from images.

All the applications can open TIF files, but not if they have more than 4 channels. Make sure to remove all the masks so only the RGB/color channels remain.
