When I edit an image in Photoshop and apply the filter “Topaz Labs → Topaz Photo AI”, a window appears with the message “Downloading Models - Some model files need to be re-downloaded before images can be processed”. The download then takes more than 15 minutes before the image can be processed.
What can I do to ensure that the model files are only updated when it is actually necessary and not every time the plug-in is invoked?
Topaz Photo AI [v2.2.1] on [Mac], Photoshop 2024 [25.3.1]
I’m having the same issues very frustrating. Sometimes it only takes 30 sec. sometimes 2-3 min. Why do I have to reload models every time I use the app?
Many thanks for the tip. I have deleted all …PhotoAI.plist files. Unfortunately without success.
When updating Topaz Photo AI to version 2.2.2, the model files were loaded within a few seconds. When I start the plug-in, it takes about half an hour to download the model files to be updated.
Let’s try updating you to the most recent version release to see if this resolves the issue.
Please make sure you’ve also turned off any firewall, VPN, or proxy that may be on your computer. These are known to block the installation. Also make sure no settings configuration in your Windows system could be interfering.
Hi John,
After updating macOS Sonoma 14.3 Beta to Sonoma 14.3 and Photo AI to Version 2.3.0, the model files are no longer constantly reloaded when invoked by the Photoshop Plug-in. I don’t know which of the two has solved my problem. Now the Photoshop plug-in works in the same way as calling Photo AI directly. Thank you.
