Wow Andy. You’re so multi-lingual! I wish I could still remember my high school and college French and travels to France …. (not that those were a long, long time ago or anything!).
Thank you for sharing the result. ![]()
I’ve also been experimenting with some newly released AI models.
The image was restored using FireRed V1.1 and further refined with Z-image. All of these are free, open-source models that run locally with no cloud services required. ![]()

As always Brilliant work, is it me or does your version look like someone famous
Bonjour AND-E

In this case, I don’t like the results from Luminar. The hair looks fake, and there are too many artifacts in the skin. AND-E’s version looks way better, and it’s worth putting the extra time in my opinion. I also agree that different tools are required to achieve the best results, especially if the client is paying.
Nice to see different workflows, it’s inspiring
Pretty good for a first attempt but I still very much prefer the Topaz version
If you look at the version above, the Eyes have no Life to them the Mouth and Nose are soft with no definition as are the Eyes the Skin looks Plastic and natural
The version above, the Hairline and Hair just looks weird
The version above the Stubble above and below the Lips and around the Chain are different textures and appear odd as do the Freckles if you can call them that or Spots
Nice try but for me Topaz is still ahead by a mile
Which version is which, Andy?
The ones with the warmer, yellower tones have less skin texture and are softer (IMO).
This result has good skin & hair texture and sharpness and lips/eyes/brows look dimensional. But there’s still a bit of a plastic mannequin look (to me). I can’t put my finger on why it’s striking me that way. Maybe it’s too perfect vs the little flaws humans have. It could be that it looks like a very well (but heavily) retouched image of a person vs how you’d bet they look in real life. But it is amazing given the starting image!
Comparing My version to lecliqueur2
Yes I totally agree, that’s why I love the Topaz Studio Applications they give us that Realism, Authentic Naturalism, Fidelity and Accuracy the other apps just can’t deliver and that’s also, why I don’t have to look any further just check out these Realism examples.
The beauty of the Topaz Studio Subscription for myself and I know it’s not for everyone but, for me over other Subscriptions is you get that incredible Definition and Detail in High Resolution up to 32 Megapixels with a Regular Subscription and 100 Megapixels with a Pro Subscription plus you can Render as many images as you like all day and every day without hidden costs or hitting any kind of Low Resolution Limitations, Pay Wall or needing an Extra Subscription or Pay As You Go Account
Sorry, got carried away a bit but, the point is I’m paying for the best that delivers the freedom, control plus Realistic, and faithfully True to Life Results I require so, why try other apps when we have it all within our Topaz Studio Subscription.
To summarise Topaz Studio in one word Verisimilitude
