Photo AI Crashes after Upgrade While Batch Processing

Photo AI (3.3.0) is crashing while attempting to batch process raw images. I did not have this problem prior to upgrading the software a couple days ago. This batch processing is the first that I have attempted since the upgrade.

On the first attempt, it made it through 10 of 72 images. When I came back to the computer, the software was no longer open. It made it through 60 of 72 images on the second attempt and the software was no longer open when I returned to the computer. On the third attempt, it made it through 22 of 72 images and I stayed at the computer. The software exited without warning in the middle of processing an image.

I can provide log files if it is helpful.

The processing items included: Raw Denoise, Sharpen, Recover Faces (Generation 2 Beta Realistic), Balance color and Adjust Lighting.

Computer Specs:
12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H 2.30 Ghz
32 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU
Windows 11 Home

Thanks

On the topic of batch processing: I can’t get the Select All checkbox to work in 3.3.0. Only the viewed image is exported and the rest are ignored because they have no settings applied at all.

I’m having the same problem using a preset to batch process jpgs.

I’d like to get some more information to help troubleshoot the problem you are having.

Could you send us your computer’s full system profile?

Also, if you can, open Photo AI and then go to Help > Open Log Folder; please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.

If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

Dropbox File Request

Hello John.
I uploaded the requested files to your Dropbox.
Thank you for looking into this.

Similar issue here, made it through 365 images (used the LR plugin function), near or at the end, the app closes and none of the images have actually been updated in LR.

Your machine’s Intel GPU only has about 1 GB of VRAM, while our requirement is 6 GB of VRAM.

We do have Topaz Photo AI v3.0.4 and v2.4.2, which may give you a more stable application for this machine. You can use the following links to download these installers for your review:

While my Alienware Laptop has an Intel Iris Xe Graphics card in it, it also has and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU. According to the NVIDIA specs, that GPU has 8GB of Memory. I have and have always had the settings in Photo AI set to only use the NVIDIA GPU. See the DxDiag titled DxDiag (laptop only) that I uploaded to you. This is from the DxDiag for my machine:

The other dxDiag that I uploaded is what dxDiag generates when I have the laptop closed and am using dual monitors running through a splitter. For whatever reason, dxDiag can’t detect the NVIDIA GPU when the laptop is closed and the display is running through the splitter to the dual monitors, but Topaz Photo AI is for sure still using the NVIDIA GPU. It would take several hours for Photo AI to batch process the jobs I feed it, if it were using the Intel GPU - which is the reality for my other slower laptop that has only an Intel Iris GPU. The Alienware laptop burns through those jobs in around 20 =/- a few minutes.
