Out of sync audio after upscale

I have digitized old Sony Hi8 camcorder files using Quicktime on a Mac.

The digitized file characteristics are ProRes 422 Standard (apcn), 704x480, FPS 29.970030.

I have tried upscaling to 1K with an output of H264. The audio option is set to Copy.

After upscaling the video looks great but the audio is out of sync.

What other options should I try?

I have found a circumvention for this problem:

I first use Final Cut Pro to convert the file to H264 then use Topaz Video AI to upscale to 4K. The audio remains in sync.

You can try changing the audio mode to ‘convert’
