After importing a file to the timeline and clicking Play or scrubbing through the timeline, the preview pane is completely black. Enabling audio shows that the audio stream is fine. The video stream is not. I’ve tried numerous video clips, including some that I worked on in TVAI previously, and nothing is playing in version 7. This is so broken that it never should have even made it to the QA process. My only option is to downgrade to v6.
To be clear, the problem occurs before even attempting to enable enhancement.

It still doesn’t work after downgrading to v6.2.2. It doesn’t work after downgrading the Nvidia Studio driver to 566.36 (December 2024). Nvidia Broadcast is not running, so it’s not interfering with the overlay.
Checking my files with ffmpeg -i, everything seems normal. It’s h264, and the color space is yuv420p. (The frame rate on this example clip is slow because it’s from a security cam. Most other files are 29.97 fps.)
I’ve got video again, only after upgrading to the very latest Nvidia Studio display driver (577.00) with a clean install. This was crazy. I was using other GPU-intensive apps all week, such as Stable Diffusion and Invoke AI. I wrote a script to reset dwm.exe just to clear any memory leaks. It works on 6.2.2 and 7.1.0. I’m apologize for anyone who had to read through this. I still have no clue what could have caused the issue.
