Import original Olympus ORF RAW file into Lightroom Classic (LRC). My imports apply “Camera Natural” profile and a few other minor settings.
In LRC, activate Topaz Photo AI plug-in to edit my Olympus ORF RAW photo in Topaz Photo AI.
After using Topaz Photo AI, export back to LRC, as “DNG”.
In LRC, edit returned DNG in Develop mode. Screen shows “Missing Camera Profile” with an exclamation mark. I can change the profile to any of the built-in Adobe ones (Adobe Color, Adobe Standard, Adobe Landscape, Adobe Portrait, Adobe Vivid), but not to any of the Camera ones (Camera Muted, Camera Natural, Camera Portrait, Camera Vivid), as none of them are available.
Since LRC camera profiles cannot be duplicated by changing other develop settings (they are totally different from user defined presets which are simply a collection of other develop adjustments), this is a huge disappointment. I can’t use Photo AI on the RAW file first to get optimal denoise and sharpening, followed by applying the desired Camera Natural profile to get optimal color, lighting, and contrast.
Note that if I use the DXO plug-in to edit the RAW file and return to Lightroom with DXO’s DNG file, I have no problem setting or changing to any Camera profile, and, in particular the Camera Natural profile stays present and is not missing.
If I don’t use the Topaz plug-in, and instead use “Edit in…,” the returned image from Topaz is a TIFF and there are no profiles available other than “Color” or “Monochrome”.

The same happens with my ORF files.
In addition, not only the camera profile is missing after processing, but also the built-in lens corrections (distortion, vignetting etc). Here is the original Here is the dng created by Photo AI
Same Issue using a Sony RX10M4. Original Raw file uses Adobe Color Profile. After editing in Topaz Photo AI, the only profile available is SONY DSC-RX10M4, which does not appear to have the same colour gamut as adobe. Camera profiles are also different. Sample images and screenshots loaded to dropbox folder above.
Thanks for sending the files. At the moment, we have lens correction for some lenses. Images that have built-in lens profiles or which we don’t have lens correction for will have distortion on the output.
A potential fix is to use Lightroom Classic and enable lens correction.
For the camera profiles, I have documented this for my team so we can look into a fix.
A workaround for both issues would be using the Photo > Edit in > Topaz Photo AI workflow which makes a TIF copy of the image.
Same on my Sony A7III when using Adobe SDK on Export preferences. If I turn this flag off and use the default DNG camera profiles are selectable in Lightroom classic.
I tried turning off the Adobe SDK on Export preferences, and, while you’re right, that now the Olympus profiles show up as available w/in Lightroom, the color they produce in the photos does not match the true color same named profiles on the original RAW ORF file, at least not for my Olympus ones!
The workaround isn’t great because Topaz AI sharpening on the original RAW is much better than on TIFs or JPGs. The product itself strongly encourages to use the RAW, and I can easily see the difference.
I see there have been several updates to the product, since my issue was first posted. Several of those updates do include addition of previously missing camera profiles. The latest update as I write this, version 2.1.0, even includes an added DJI Air 3 profile. I’m baffled as to why Topaz would think adding that profile should somehow take precedence over adding / fixing the availability of the Olympus profiles, which certainly would be useful to many more users.
I’m having the same issue with my Olympus E-M1 mark III – I get the “profile missing” error in Lightroom Classic after editing the ORF in Topaz and saving the DNG back to Lightroom.
I also tried using “Edit in…” instead of the plugin, editing a TIFF that already has my Lightroom edits baked in (including the camera profile), but the results are not nearly as good in Topaz as when editing the RAW file.
I love Topaz Photo AI though, it works great for my other cameras, just having this issue with my Olympus.
The Issue I am having was at length discussed in you community and recently closed without a resolution. I also have the problem with my Nikon Z6ii files, but it appears to affect every camera and many other users have reported this as fact back as August 2023. Here is a link to the discussion group:
