Iris model tries too hard to fix small faces

Topaz Video AI 5.3.2

Among the available models, Iris produces by far the most pleasing result when processing material like “The Love Garden” (1971). See attached input sample:

Unfortunately it tries too hard to enhance faces that are far away, resulting in distorted facial features.
Here is a frame that reveals the damaging effect:

Try using the newer model Rhea to see how that performs on this video as it is a mix between Iris and Proteus.

And especially try Rhea at 1x / original size.
This avoids most of the monster faces while still providing a great cleanup and giving quite some extra detail.

Rhea is even crispier than Iris and the small faces are somewhat better. Too bad it is so slow: 3 fps vs 15 fps.

You’re on Apple Silicon?
Rhea runs at approximately 7 fps here (M2 Ultra) with SD sources.
