Installer error: "Internet connectivity error. Verify connectivity before retrying installation"

I am trying to install Topaz Photo AI 1.4.2 downloaded at the topaz labs download website and am getting error message “Internet connectivity error. Verify connection before retrying installation” towards the end when running the installer. I am running on Windows 11 and my internet speed is 350 Mbps down/40 Mbps up so I’m not sure what’s wrong with my internet for it to throw this message.

I have read previous forums with this exact error and have tried the following

• Disabled antivirus (and windows defender)
• Switched between Wi-Fi/Ethernet and other networks
• Disabled firewall (public/private)
• Test downloaded other software/games
• I have 800GB free of SSD space

Specs: Nvidia 3070, AMD 5600x, WD Blue SN550

Steps to reproduce issue:

1. Download installer from official website
2. Run .msi installer
3. Error

Update: I downloaded some VPN software and connected to a random U.S. server and the download went through instantly super fast. I’m not sure why this was the case but I hope it helps someone who comes across this issue in the future.

The model files are downloaded from our model site. If there is a security application or settings on the internet connection that block the download, this error will appear.

Using a VPN can get around it, although it would be best to figure out what on your computer/internet is blocking it in the first place.
