How to avoid color dithering?

No matter what model or output setting I choose, I keep ending up with what looks like low bit color dithering. I don’t know if that’s what it is, but that’s the best way I can explain it. Here’s an example of what I mean:

Top: Original
Bottom: Topaz Upscale

How do I avoid this? Can it be avoided?

The input in this case is HVENC 10Bit HDR.

Thanks!

this is most likely because you lost the HDR information
Have you tried encoding it in TVAI using H265 Main10 profile?

Topaz are looking into options for adding better HDR and wide color gamut support in the app, but for now Topaz recommend working in the standard BT.709 color space as that is what the AI models are converting input files to for processing,

BT.709 is the internal colorspace for all model processing for now .

Is this dithering also visible when exporting to an Image Sequence or to a 10-bit codec?

If possible, could you upload a sample of the original input file for testing?
