Im using TVAI for slowing down some aurora Timelapse’s. Used it successfully back in May to slow down a clip, but I’m struggling this time.
Im feeding in quality prores, the file itself made up of what were Raw files edited. So top class input material.
Using Apollo or Chronos, I get banding running horizontally at intervals up the video file. This never happened with my May footage, and the banding certainly isn’t present in the full speed file. Using a 4x slow here, but it’s present at 2x also.
This looks like it could be an issue with the GPU not being able to handle the shift in the colors possibly due to being strained.
Try lowering the max memory % in the Preferences Panel>Processing and see if that helps the strain on your system.
It sounds like this could be the issue based on your friend running it on their system and not seeing the issue. The logs do not show any errors occurring that point to a reason.
Lowered this to 50%, and I’m getting the same result.
I’m no expert in computing, but nothing seems strained while running Topaz. Memory pressure is fine, and CPU and GPU usage looks very low also, maybe all is running through the neural engine.
M3 Pro 12C/18 with 18gb Ram, not ideal for Topaz but sufficient.
Strange how it worked perfectly in May on the same machine.
When you were running the app back in May was it a different version of the app or the same version?
Can you send me the file you are working with so we can try testing it on our mac systems and a PC for comparison?
You can securely submit your file(s) to our Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something and include the file name.
