Hello TOPAZ Support Team,

I’m encountering an issue while installing version 8.4.1. Each time I attempt the installation, I receive the error message in the screen capture below. Could you please help clarify what this error is about and advise on any steps I might take to install the update successfully?

For context, I experienced the same problem with version 8.4.0, even though previous releases were installed without any issues. This recurring problem has been quite disruptive. I would appreciate any guidance you can provide or information on an upcoming fix.

Hi Esther,

I just downloaded/installed to my Win 11 desktop PC. Tried using in Ps 2025.

Working with a 6300 x 4400 .jpg image at 1x trying to do a Recover with a “medium” pre-downscaling.

There are no processing bar % completion metrics/counter, but I’d guesstimate that the blue processing bar zipped up to roughly 55% (perceptually) virtually immediately and then didn’t move at all for at least 3-4 minutes. At which point I nuked the job and cancelled the processing.

Just to manage my expectations … should I still not expect to be able to use the more creative GAI models locally with my AMD RX6800 XT processor (16GB VRAM, 64GB RAM)? Since my PC doesn’t have an NVIDIA processor. And, my Intel CPU runs even slower than the AMD. I don’t like the idea of using/purchasing credits, so want to run my jobs locally.

Thx!

Check this thread:

Download and verification problem for evad-v1-fp16-64x64-ox model not fixed. Still there as previously described here :

The model file still has no corresponding .tag file.

Slowly becoming annoying.

Hi Fotomaker!

By our system reqs, you should be able to run creative models with no problem.

Let me check with our team if there is something amiss here…

bug is solved, history images changed and dont load again

you add a new redefine procedure, but is it realy like you said (pre downscaling) or is it upscaling and after downlscaling.
so my procedure is upcale 4x times standard/low/ or high and after 0.5x redefine …
all in all maybe you can find out why sometimes on analog images (scanned) appears small white spots.

Can you delete your JSON files/model folder and re-install?
This model “evad-v1-fp16-64x64-ox” is an old model that hasn’t existed for around a year now

It is an upscaling before processing to bring the image density closer to the pixel density to help the AI work on it.

Do you mean deleting all JSON files in C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Gigapixel AI\models ?

Curious : when I delete it, the new installer re-install it.

@Zed1 all fine…
the new redefine is a bit better now but my way is plus a bit better

JPG artifact… you can see if you apply a filter like “sharp edges”. the rectangles that can then be seen, usually on evenly colored areas, are from the JPG, mostly from the smartphone.
I only now in old Paintshop (JPG-removal) or high-cost adobe neural-filters to reduce that.

Deleting everything in C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Gigapixel AI\ and re-installing fixed the problem. After the new installation, all the evxxxxxx models have disappeared.

This clearly means that there is a leftover issue when uninstalling or updating the program (contrary to what I thought until now). I always installed new versions over the existing one without uninstalling first.

Thanks anyway.

Nothing for fixing M3 for over a year now.

Before and after with Redefine and Recover v2.

Here we go from an image extracted from one of my videos to a final quality worthy of a photo. So from abse 1440 x 1080 to 8160 x 6120 pixels

That’s great to be able to capture a single frame from a video!

Did you purposely lighten the After or did the processing do that?

Now THAT is some serious creativity, changing lions into a postimage placeholder!

See, you can do that too with Creative Redefine…

I don’t know what happened. When I uploaded the image, it was perfectly visible. But I notice that sometimes the site I use tends to do this kind of thing. I’ve never had that before.

So here’s the final image.

I hope it doesn’t disappear this time.
