File > Plug-in Extras > Process with Topaz Photo AI. Produce distortion

Topaz recommend to use Topaz Photo AI as plug-in extra from Lightroom.

But when the prosessed photo is saved back to Lightroom, it is distorted.
This do not happen when I use Edit -in - Topaz Photo AI.
Original is a converted DNG file from a RW2 file (Lumix G9M2).

The DNG file from Topaz Photo AI is more then twice as large as the original file (Original: 41 MB, from Photo AI: 94 MB). This means that such files take up a lot of space and why does it have to be so big?

I attach exported JPG from Lightroom here, and it’s easy to see the distortion in the file that is edited with plug-in extra.

I have done Noise reduction and sharpen in both files edited in Photo AI.

Would you mind sending in some more information to get a better understanding of the problem you are having with this particular type of image? Please send the following information:

  1. The original image file.
  2. The processed image.
  3. A screenshot or description of the settings panel so I can see what adjustments were turned on.

If you can take a screen recording of this behavior so I can see exactly what is happening, it will be helpful to ensure that we can replicate the workflow you are using to investigate.

Loom is a great free application for this: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording

Hello,

I have uploaded the requested files.

Can you open Photo AI and then go to Preferences > General and tell me if you have Lens Correction enabled?

Yes, it’s enabled (probably a standard setting, since I have not touched it)

Olav

I have tried to turn off the Lens Correction. Now the result from Photo AI has no distortion (but have changed colors a little bit). But I can’t find any advise for this setting in Topaz Labs Docs. So is it’s best to have Lens Coorection always turned off, or is it some situations/lenses that it’s best turned on?

I would recommend having the Lens Correction off for this particular type of image, as it appears that the Lens Correction is being handled by Lightroom Classic. I will have to do some more research to learn why this might be occurring for this particular image.
