Fatal crash with Video AI 5.3.5

  1. Since upgrade to v5.3.5 Video Ai crashes almost every time. After a few minutes or even seconds the computer freezes completely. Neither mouse nor keyboard work, all programs blocked. Either the computer restarts by itself or I have to do a reset. Simple processes like 2x-4x slow motion.

  2. iMac 2020, 3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9, Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16GB, 128 GB RAM, macOS 15.0.1

Hello.

Out-looking-in, it seems like you have much bigger issues.

What are your temps when this happens, your RAM condition/seated, storage drive/PSU condition… on & on!

In the Preferences Panel make sure the AI Processor is set to use the Radeon 5700, turn on the low-power mode and set the max memory to 50% and try running the process again.

That helped, thanks. However the plugin for Davinci Resolve still crashes the computer and provokes a kernel panic. I’m surprised that one piece of software can still crash the whole computer these days. I haven’t experienced that in the last 10 years.
