Export with bad color profile for HEIF format

  1. I open an HEIF image, filesize 1.5 MB (originated from an iPhone) with Display P3 color profile.
  2. After several improvements in Topaz Photo AI2 (removing noise + sharpening subject + Recovering face + Adjusting lighting + Balancing Color) I got a good result and was happy with it, until it stays on Topaz window.
  3. When I export and select output format as “Preserve input format” the result is not good : it changes the output color profile even if I selected “preserve input format”. The exported file is still in HEIC, but reduced from 1.5MB to 471 kB and the color profile changes from Display P3 to sRGB. DCI-P3 has much more colors than sRGB.
  4. However, if I select TIFF as output format, it works fine, and the generated file is in TIFF 16 bits in the good color profile (Display P3), but the file size increases to 43 MB.
  5. Export to jpg 95% is also OK. It generates a 1.6 MB file in Display P3 color profile.
  6. Export to PNG format, compress 2 (by default) and Bit depth “preserve” is also OK. It generates a 35MB file in Display P3 color profile.

We can conclude that the issue is only for HEIF output format file, if we edit and HEIF image and select “Preserve input format”.
