Export error after auto-crop stabilization

First time using Video AI after paying for the subscription for 2 years. I’m simply trying to export a video for which I applied auto-crop stabilization. The raw video is from an iPhone (16 Pro).

First I got an error because the default container format that was selected (mp4) didn’t support the audio in the video. After choosing Convert for audio mode I’m getting a generic error with both AAC and AC3. It says to provide the logs, so I’ll do that.

The system profile is an Apple M1 Max.

Please let me know if you need more detail.

Sorry more info if it helps. I tried setting Audio mode to None, and the export finished without an error. So it must be related to the audio.

But I need the audio, and also macOS thinks the video is a slow motion video for some reason.

These were the settings I used:

And this is what I see in the playback dialog when opening the exported video in macOS Preview:

The original video is NOT a slow motion video, it’s just a standard 120 fps.

Even more info, this is what ffmpeg says about the audio:

Stream #0:20x3: Audio: none (apac / 0x63617061), 48000 Hz, 4 channels, 308 kb/s

handler_name : Core Media Audio
vendor_id : [0][0][0][0]

In my iPhone settings, I have “Spatial Audio” set (the other options are Stereo and Mono). I hope that’s supported?

This is an error related to the app being unable to decode the video;

iPhone 16 videos are not yet supported in Video AI, this is due to the change in how the audio is now being encoded. You will need to convert the input video using Handbrake, then bring it that into Video AI.

Otherwise, you can change the audio mode to ‘none’, which won’t export any audio, but it will be able to export the clip, and you can stitch the audio back together using a non-linear editing app such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.

Hi Margaux, thanks for the information!

I was able to export with Audio mode=None. That’s better than nothing, but it would be nice to have audio, obviously.

Using Handbrake or another app is too much work for this use case. This is just a casual video I wanted to enhance.

All these casual-type videos will be from iPhone 16 (and 17 when that comes out in a few months) so hopefully that can be supported at some point.
