Error: Failed to read connection
Please implement better error handling, retrying, etc. Especially for mobile broadband & slow internet connections.

Are you trying to connect only through a mobile hotspot?
Sorry hijacking original posters thread, but having the same issue, internet is via 4g Router ~40mbps +or- 20mbps. Haven’t been able to download plugins since v5 same issue in v6 with - Error: Failed to read connection
It does appear from Task manager that the a model is being downloaded, the network usage tops out for a few minutes before resulting in the error. After the error if I attempt to download the same model again it fail instantly this time with no network activity. Download a different model and again the network tops out for a few minutes before failing.
