Some time have passed, reflections have been made, other software (perpetual one) have been bought…
Still using the 4.0.3 version as I don’t really like how things went down last year, and the last update - the one to 4.0.4 only offered an easier way of going “studio”.
Still have to ask though… that thing with “maintenance updates” or whatever they were called back when the commotion was at it’s peak. Where did those go? I mean - nothing… yeah - nothing - have happened since then. (I raise a glass to all the abandonware I’ve come across during my time with computers).
One would think that this one for example - fixing an obvious flaw in a paid for product - would enter as one of those updates even us old grumpy souls who didn’t jump onto the subscribtion train should be entitled to:
Ohh, and this (I like how a 4.0.x thread gets a “we’ve fixed it, but only if you subscribe” reference")
I’m sure there are other fixes as well (this is actually the first time I pop in for real since I got temp-banned for a month for saying my truths back in November was it?) to things that was bought and just didn’t work (I remember having one thing with photos getting “squished” when changing orientation of a photo).
So what happened to that?
Hope everyone in this corner of the world is happy with what you paid for, I rarely look back.
Thanks for the fish, though…
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
To clarify on the maintenance updates: those were intended specifically for OS compatibility (macOS/Windows) for versions available at the time Photo AI was discontinued. At this point, we’re not tracking any current OS compatibility issues that would require additional maintenance releases, and v4.0.4 remains the final version of Photo AI.
Any new fixes, improvements, or feature work are now being made in Topaz Photo, which is the actively developed application going forward.
We understand that not everyone chose to move to the newer model, and we appreciate the time you’ve spent using Photo AI. If you do decide to revisit things in the future, Topaz Photo is where all ongoing development is happening.
