I just uploaded some sony files
Ok, I uploaded all the logs that might contain something from today
Thank you for uploading the examples. Unfortunately they seem to work fine for me, so I canāt reproduce the issue youāre having.
For logs, open the program and make sure file logging is turned on. You can check this by going to Help > File Logging. You can also use that menu to open the log folder.
send the link again from the dropbox please Adam! I found the log path!
Good to hear, you can put them here: Submit files
Just uploaded! was a lot of files! but take a look!
Are you dragging from Lightroom onto DeNoise or exporting as a TIF to the application?
Doing the same as I was doing before!
Edit in denoise from light and I do save the image shows the corrputed file or damage after import back to lightrom Aidon!
And shows as TIF file as well!
I did in 3 computers!
2x intel I9
and 1x Amd Razen⦠both windows desktop!
let me know!
Did you check my log files?
Yes, I can reproduce it now but I likely cannot get a fix out tonight since itās already late for me.
For now you can downgrade to a previous version so you can still work. Now that I see the issue I can work on it tomorrow. Iām sorry that this caused a disruption for you.
You can find the previous version below. Iām including both operating systems in case someone else stumbles across this and wants to downgrade temporarily as well.
Windows: https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazDeNoiseAI/2.2.7/TopazDeNoiseAI-2.2.7-windows-x64-Full-Installer.exe
Mac: https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazDeNoiseAI/2.2.7/TopazDeNoiseAI-2.2.7-osx-Full-Installer.dmg
Dont worry brother! go take your rest and delete my ticket because I so pissed today! stay safe! great night!
Thank you!
Seriously not happy with 2.2.8 as it no longer works with my previous workflow even though no settings were changed. I just updated to 2.2.8 from the previous version. The previous version was working perfectly.
Using the links above to downgrade Topaz Denoise AI. Thanks for posting those.
Full setup and workflow:
LightRoom Classic v9.4
Mac OS v10.15.6
I was using the previous version of Denoise today and got a pop up that a new version was available. I clicked āupdateā in the popup. The installer appeared to run without issue. However Topaz Denoise AI no longer works.
What happens now:
I use .ARW raw files from Sony A9 in LR develop module
Right click on file and āEdit in Topaz DeNoise AIā which creates a .Tif I believe
Usual dialog box comes up āedit copy with LR adjustmentsā
Topaz deNoise AI opens as usual
I can use Topaz DeNoise AI as normal to adjust noise reduction parameters and sharpening and the preview looks great.
Hit āApplyā to finish in Topaz Denoise AI
Back in LR the .Tif file created appears with a message āThe file appears to be unsupported or damagedā
The Tif file in LR does not show any noise reduction, like Topaz Denoise did not do anything.
I have powered off and back on many times. No results. Not happy as the update broke what was a bullet proof and easy workflow that was working previously.
I can provide logs or files if required, just need to know which ones.
edit ā Just wanted to add that after downgrading to 2.2.7 everything works great again, the bug was definitely introduced in 2.2.8 for me.
I have exactly the same problem, using the last version of Lightroom classic, with a Sony A7r2, although Iām using a Window machine (Window 10, 64bit, build 2004) last version of everything.
I get the file unsupported error, could open the file with PS, but no denoizing effectuated. I noted that Denoise AI 2.2.8 left a TEMP file in the folder. Could open that TEMP file in LR or PS, but no denoising took place in that file either.
Itās just a problem with the plugin in LRC, when I use Denoise as a standalone, it works as intended. But then the workflow isnāt very convenient.
DeNoise AI 2.2.8 (2.2.7 just before update also) creates defect file. Calling a tif file of 2.33 Gb from Lightroom DeNoise processes the file (half an our) and returns back to Lightroom but Lightroom says invalid format or defect file. I now see the .tif file from Lightroom which has 8 byte and one with -TMP.tif which has 2.22 Gb in size. Seems something goes wrong when finalizing the edit (Mac has enough space and memory!).
Update: The -TMP.tif file seems to be readable in Finder. So something goes wrong when renaming or whatsoeverā¦
After updating last night, I sent abut a dozen files from On1 Photo Raw 2020 to DeNoise for batch processing. These were all DNGs, but converted from ARW by Lightroom in the days when I was a Lightroom user. At least two of them created this TMP file, which did not seem to have any changes from the TIFF created by On1. The TIFF created by DeNoise was unreadable.
Unfortunately, I threw the results away and re-processed by exporting from On1 as TIFFs and then processing in DeNoise standalone mode. I kind of prefer this anyway, since it appends a suffix that is more convenient than just ācopyā.
Rather than sending a a whole batch of log files from yesterday, I will see if I can reproduce the issue this morning and send the appropriate logs if I do.
Did you check whether the TEMP file has been changed by Denoise ? I donāt seem to see any change, any denoising job done with mine. Although it is correctly opened by LRC. I think that TEMP file is created when Denoise open the tif. But then something goes wrong, the denoising job isnāt correctly saved to the original tif or the temp tif, something abort and so both version remains thereā¦
2020-08-28-06-38-13-Main.txt (86.3 KB) 2020-08-28-06-42-5-Main.txt (550.7 KB) 2020-08-28-06-32-22-Main.txt (2.6 MB)
I hope these are the correct logs.
I ran a batch process of 12 DNGs and four of them failed to be processed by DeNoise. The ball span for a bit on each of them, but the progress bar did not move across.
I then tried an ARW file, with the same result as others have experienced. A TMP.tif file was created back in On1, but the de-noising had not been applied. The original copy.tif was unreadable.
Application & Version: Topaz DeNoise AI Version 2.2.8
Operating System: macOS 10.15
Graphics Hardware: AMD Radeon Pro 5500M OpenGL Engine
OpenGL Driver: 4.1 ATI-3.10.16
CPU RAM: 32768 MB
Video RAM: 2047 MB
Preview Limit: 4492 Pixels
Updating this since there were notable issues with external editors in 2.2.8.
The cause has been identified and we have a fix building right now. There will be an update to DeNoise and Sharpen to address this today.
If you would like to temporarily downgrade to 2.2.7, you can do so with these links:
Windows: https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazDeNoiseAI/2.2.7/TopazDeNoiseAI-2.2.7-windows-x64-Full-Installer.exe
Mac: https://downloads.topazlabs.com/deploy/TopazDeNoiseAI/2.2.7/TopazDeNoiseAI-2.2.7-osx-Full-Installer.dmg
Hi Adam, I have been posting in another thread. Downgrading to 2.2.7 has not worked for me. The image gets from Lightroom to denoise, the preview shows the changes correctly but the resulting image does not reflect those changes, in fact it looks unchanged.
