Hovering over any button in the TVAI 6 GUI, for any amount of time, give no additional details about what the button is supposed to do. This is especially problematic for the buttons that are just icons.
All buttons should have a tool tip that either displays the button name, or an explanation of what it does, or both.
Thanks for reporting this, I’ve put in a request on our end for more tool tips to be added to the app.
So… there is an option in preferences to specifically turn off tool tips:
Either I had turned it off in TVAI 4.2 for unrelated functionality, or it is off by default.
Here’s the thing: I like that they can be turned off, but off should be that they are reduced to the simplest form. For example the tooltip for the play button reads “Play Start video playback.” Turning off ‘Show help prompts’ should change the wording to “Play”. The tooltip should still appear.
