Crop tool doesn't work properly after rotating

After re-orienting the video, example, rotating 90 deg., the crop tool doesn’t function properly. It doesn’t allow me to move the crop tool beyond the top half of the image.

MacBook Pro M3 Max
MacOS 15.3.1

For me TVAI crop is crap, I don’t use it. Source preparing needs at least what Virtualdub can do, with the two filters “Null transform” and “Resize” and large Window where you can zoom in for croping

crop alone is not enough, the source should be processed in such a way that users can scale it a little bit (lanczos , bicubic, spline) and all processes code friendly done (divided by two, no floating point)

The user should be able to archive the desired aspect ratio (without letterbox), which also means that some videos have to be stretched freely in width, which is not possible with Topaz or only to a limited extent with the “square pixel” function when this appears, it’s annoying we need free scaling without letterbox option.

I think TVAI should ignore and not set any DAR, refrences always to SAR, we work pixel native today, streching when playing is a old thing no one likes. So TVAI should ignore DAR of a container, then wrong DAR value problematic is gone. The user must be able to say TVAI exactly what he want and TVAI must do it, give users full control, so then when it’s wrong strechted it was a user fault.

Thanks for reporting this!

When I attempt to crop an IPhone vertical quicktime video the crop grid will not move below the top half of the screen. It seems like it thinks the video is a portrait type video. This is not the way it worked in the last version 5
