CRITICAL: Caught exception

I everyone, new here :).

Intel Arc Graphics A770
Windows 11

I encounter this error :

2024-12-04 02:23:03 13728 CRITICAL: Caught exception in tile processing thread and stopped it msg: Exception from src\inference\src\cpp\infer_request.cpp:245:
Exception from src\plugins\intel_gpu\src\runtime\ocl\ocl_stream.cpp:384:
[GPU] clFinish, error code: -5

My screen goes black, then turns back on and an “error” message appears. Sometimes the software crashes. I even got a blue screen.

After updating the graphics drivers, the bug got bigger and appears much faster.

The problem does not occur when exporting to an image sequence. So it seems that the video encoding is at fault. This bug occurs whether it is H264 or PROres, .Mov or .MP4.

I also tested on version 3.1.5, the one I used before with an old NVIDIA GPU. This problem does not occur. But be aware that oddly enough, I never had the slightest error in H264 and .mp4, the other export combinations could cause some errors sometimes.

If any of you know from which version this bug occurs, that would be great for me, I’m really afraid of damaging my GPU by doing so many tests :B
Especially since the duration of the image-by-image export and/or the video export estimates (before the bug) show that 5.5 seems to offer 40 minutes of export compared to 7 hours for 3.1.5, I would be delighted to save money.

Generally speaking, whether it’s on version 5.5 or 3.1.5, I also have a bug that causes black screens, software crashes or blue screens when browsing the preview, when a previous preview with a previous model has been made. I am forced to delete the video from the “Sources” section and reimport it to avoid this problem. I should point out that this problem was also present with my old NVDIA.

See ya

Try lowering the max memory:

File > Preferences > Processing

  • Set the max memory usage at 80%
