Blended Frames Artifact

The software sometimes blends frames, usually where one shot ends and another starts. Does this mean that it is designed to be used to correct one shot at a time?

In the frame captures I’m including frame B shows a vertical line from frame A blending with frame C. This artefact was introduced when I used Iris. I have not tested with other models to see if the same thing happens.

Can improved shot detection be introduced in a future release?

Thanking you in advance.

Thanks for this bug report!

Our team is currently working on scene detection for Video AI, which would avoid blending the last and first frames of different shots when using the Enhancement and Frame Interpolation filters. We hope to have more information on this feature available soon.

Thanks Tony,

Here is a clear example. In this scene a light flashes in the room. Video AI blends frames 1 and 2 (introducing the halo type artefact in the second frame)…

Since first reporting this bug I’ve found that the blending of the last frame of shot A with the first frame of shot B occurs in over 90% of edit points. I have consequently had to restore/upscale movies one shot at a time.

Please prioritise improving the scene detection functionality as this issue seems to be the software’s biggest handicap. Once this issue is resolved it will be truly great!
