1. Starlight Mini "loading model" forever 2. unbelievable slow performance issue

This “Video AI” is unbelievable

Like I have a RTX 5090 and 9800X3D but this thing still runs like the washing machine from 19th century:

A. Starlight mini of course keeps loading model

…with 100% CPU and 89% GPU (Yes Yes I know there is already another post about it with a solution but hey, what if I want my 5090 achieve its full capacity?)

B. GPU only runs at 40% (CPU FULL RUNNING) and keeps jumping from 1 to 40%, as a result, real low speed

…OK fine, I’ll go with other regular models but still (like c’om):
fine, what about this

8 hours? 6fps? OMG did I get a fake 5090??? TRUST ME I did choose the right “AI processor” and tried BOTH gaming and studio drivers

THIS IS THE PROBLEM: like even GPU-Z can not believe that on a GPU-AI software, my 5090 is only running a 40% overall and the 9800X3D is doing all the job:

I knew Topaz Video AI from way back like 5 years ago (yeah it was called enhance or something) and now I wanted to come back for its new features. It now runs much less on GPU than before, or did the trend shift to CPU now?

v7.0.1 just dropped and includes improved model performance on higher end hardware. Can you update and let me know if it’s running more smoothly?

Thank you for the prompt fix but in short…

A. Almost Same
B. Same

A. Starlight Mini “loading model” forever…now it says…

Then I switched to the NVIDIA game ready driver. It finally passed the “starting” phase after 7 minutes! Although…

Real slow processing speed like 0.1 fps…Gosh I wish other 5090s did the same
During this, CPU seems stable, but GPU has straight 0-100% intervals (see the screenshot above)

B. The unbelievably slow performance… remains under both types of drivers:

One side observation yesterday and today for this kind of non-startlight processing: in the first 10 seconds, the performance would be like 40fps+ and then quickly dropping to 5-6fps as seen above

I’ll be doing something else these days…
