If I were to use these editing steps, is this the best sequence (for general use, and noting some exceptions mentioned in the article on Denoise/Sharpen/Gigapixel workflow)?

Sharpen
misc changes in PS
Gigapixel
fx in Studio

I use Denoise, Sharpen, and then Gigapixel, and do my cropping in Gigapixel, and I find that works very well for me. After that, I do touch ups in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Elements. You might want to give Gigapixel a try as your cropping tool.
I can see that working, but doesn’t it mean that Denoise and Sharpen run slower than they would if cropping were done first?
