Why does the date taken change when I save a photo?

NOT a desirable result.
Surprised I’m only discovering this now after using this software for at least a couple years.
Edit: Ah, I just figured out why - The shots I’m editing today are DNG files from a GRiii. From LR I’m making a copy of the DNG and then opening it up in Photo AI to Raw Denoise. Everything I’ve done prior was Sony’s raw format. Not sure if it’s LR ‘making a copy’ that is changing it, or Photo AI tbh.
