Video Enhance AI v1.8.1

What’s better quality png 8bit or 16 bit tiff uncompressed?

@ATharp 10 bit ffmpeg here

I just tested this with Artemis HQ v9 and it’s…
100%, 119% and 120% are same.
121%, 200% and 239% are same.
240%, 400%, 480%, 600% and beyond are same. However, I couldn’t go over 600% with custom.

You should use even numbers coz odd numbers will crop your frames a tiny bit.

Sample is 96x96 png. Very old image of mine, 2.85 KB. Artemis worked best for this sample. Gaia and Theia would just break the whole image. The settings are messed up with this software, I could not do fast with multiple files because it will just don’t ‘remember’ the settings that I just set, or it does not show it correctly. I have to re-check many times for each file so it is a waste of time and energy.

Also I suggest devs to make us being able to set ‘global’ settings for multiple files, coz I don’t wanna set each file manually. That means more files management and settings management for UI for better experience. Thanks.

I’m replying on plissandro but this is also for devs to read, haha.

You did perform your test on a 96x96px png?

Hey there, I’d like to connect with you and troubleshoot your issue. Can you supply us some file logs?

Help → Enable file logging
Restart the app
Reproduce the not loading issue
Help → Open File log folder
Grab the 4 latest .tzlog files and come back and post here.

There is a button when you make your post with a tooltip labelled “upload” that looks like a hard drive with an up arrow that you can use to upload your files.

I’d love to have a feature that is geared towards presentations that generally do not have a lot of movement in them. Most of the videos I upscale for work will have several minutes sitting on the same slide. It would be cool, if practical, to have the frames analyzed to see if it is the same as the previous frame and just output the same result instead of re-rendering it.

@ATharp HDR10+ FFMPEG Here

have you tried running deduplication first?
for ffmpeg, you can use:
’ ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf mpdecimate -c:a copy -vsync vfr out.mp4 ’
it will create a video with same length as source but without duplicate frames, using variable framerate. Then maybe VEAI could do what you’re asking. But I don’t know if VEAI can interpret variable framerate

Just a quick note:
The frame skipping in encoding that I mention in 1.7.1 from x264 and BD sourced videos is still present. The skipping shows in the preview window. And from multiple sources.

A work around is to use custom avisynth script into VEAI solves the issuue.

Just to note that when converting png/tiff etc. into video, the option to specify the framerate is still missing. (Was present in older versions.) Will it be restored in the next version?

The zoom range of video clips, positions the program as a means to qualitatively increase the resolution of video clips.
A lot of people have old family video archives in low resolution and with interleave.
All of them will be happy to become buyers of your program, if you give them the opportunity to see themselves and their loved ones young and beautiful at least on the TV screen.
Therefore, I believe that the possibility of removing the interleave is one of the top priorities.
This is guaranteed to bring you profit and competitiveness.

This also applies to the program “Denoise AI”, in which users would like to find a mode of operation specifically focused on processing and retouching old photos and slides.

I’m an example of that.
I don’t watch or collect TV shows, but nevertheless I immediately bought a set of your programs to give a second life to my video archives and old scanned black-and-white photographic films.
Believe me, people are willing to give a lot to regain their youth. Even in this way.

From Feng Yang on Facebook (about 1.8.2 that’s going into beta next week);

The hidden V1.8.2 installer is just for internal testing of certain aspects 🙂 V10 model still need more training, as some of you already pointed out (plastic looks). We will have a beta next week, mainly to seek feedback on V10 model, and possibly a new model (Dione-dvd) that handles interlaced DV/DVPROC/DVD content. We will post here next week. Thanks a lot for your enthusiasm! (The hidden V1.8.2 installer will be removed)

Thank you a lot for the info!
Did I understand correctly that the link to the installer will be published in this forum thread ?

no, it will be published on the Facebook group (I copied the text from the facebook post)

The Facebook thread is more a product discussion at this point. It is no longer a beta group. The link may be posted there, but the primary location for it and discussion around it will be in the beta forum here.

Ver 1.81 also hangs when I enable use of both GPUs.

As a new user, I cannot upload, but here are the logs with data. The other two logs are empty:

Sorry for the weird question (new here), am i missing something, how come pirate sites are already posting version 1.8.2 cracked meanwhile with a purchased licence and active updates there’s still only v1.8.1 available? Is the cracked 1.8.2 non-functional / beta, meaning not full release? TY

I did that some days ago. You use other soft to colorize black and white vids then use VEAI and, voilà, bringing back beautiful memories…
Or VEAI first, then colorizing, whatever. But VEAI consumes time, so I prefer it second. But if you care about quality most, I think you ‘restore’ old images first with VEAI, then colorizing is last step.
Some people did that on Youtube, they upload colorized upscaled old footage around the world using other software but also based on Super-Resolution
