One of the things I use Video AI for is enhancing image quality and/or resolution. The ability to enhance resolution and details far beyond the final editing resolution makes it possible to pan and zoom into specific parts of the video. As many cameras now film in 4K, 5.8K, 8 K as a starting point the final enhanced/upscaled clip can be a real drag on any editing software afterwards.
The crop tool in Video AI is very rudimentary and narrow where you only can have a static crop area throughout the sequence. This is very limiting towards the usefulness and towards utilizing the full potential of this magnificent software.
It should be relatively easy to add/set different positions for the cropped area on the timeline. A functionality for this would open new possibilities for what we can do with this software. Technically it means the ability to set markers along the timeline with the possibility to edit X/Y-positions, and optionally have an editable easing curve to ajust the speed between the positioning of the cropped area.
I think Video AI need this functionality pretty quick, as it will add to its usefullness significantly. We get all the benefits of Video AI enhancements, stabilisation, and upscaling while having the freedom to focus on tracking or panning specific static or moving areas without killing the editing software with too heavy clip files.
Please, Topaz - We need timeline functionality for the crop tool.!!! Make it happen…
