Video AI 7 - NEW Starlight Mini (Local) AI Model for MAC

When will you release the Mac-Version for locally rendering ?

Yeah, same question here. Running an M3 Ultra so plenty of horsepower.

Even the M3 Ultra doesn’t really have „plenty of horse power“ compared to what NVIDIA delivers - but (and that’s a quite important but for Starlight as it seems) it has plenty of VRAM with high bandwidth.

So, Starlight mini should be feasible there, albeit slow.

Oh, fair enough. That’ll save me the cost of upgrading then.

With each new 7.x release, I’ve been hoping for Mac support, but each time I’m left disappointed. It has now been over three months since the local Starlight Mini rendering was released, yet no equivalent Mac version has been made available. Since I have no interest in using the cloud version and have already committed to a multi-year subscription, I feel unable to fully utilize the product I paid for. Unless this gap is addressed, I will have to reconsider renewing my subscription, as continuing under the current circumstances feels like prolonging the inevitable and reinforces concerns that the product is sliding into vaporware.

I was hoping news for starlight to run localy on macs today but seems its not happening.

There is a Starlight mini model in the last TVAI Beta that‘s actually kinda working here on my M2 - but with terrible quality and also was reported by others to not correctly work on M3 chips (yet).
Plus, it needs LOTS of RAM at least atm. So you better have 64GB.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot the biggest BUT: it‘ll be hidden behind the new „Studio“ apps subscription paywall, so you‘re still definitely better off with a NVidia GPU :frowning:
