I read that it is best to deinterlace old NTSC video (miniDV) footage before using Starlight.
But I don’t see Dione available in the Mac version of Topaz Video. I do have Topaz Video AI and could use that. Is it still recommended to do this with the current version of Starlight? I’m running a Studio Mac with M2 Ultra chip and have been able to run Topaz Video with Starlight option.
Many other recommend using Hybrid, but what I found is that it is not been updated for Mac since 2021.
Well, I did figure out how to get Dione DV for deinterlacing as an option in Topaz Video. It knows how to handle DV files, so it can keep the same size and pixel size when doing the deinterlacing. I can’t seem to find those options in Handbrake, so maybe it is more suited for newer interlaced media (1080i or DVD video). Any thoughts are welcome.
