Using 60fps preset versus manually selecting 59.94fps

I have several videos (not telecined) with a frame rate of 29.97fps. To double the framerate, should I manually select 59.94fps in the frame interpolation section, or just use the preset that defaults to 60fps? Likewise, for 25fps videos, should I manually select 50fps or just use the 60fps preset? Is there a benefit to using a frame rate that is exactly double the original?

In many cases, the easiest option is to stick to a direct 2x in speed instead of trying to go with an odd variable amount. In this case, setting it to 59.94 fps would be the 2x option as trying to convert to 60 fps could produce some odd frame options for the .06 fps difference from 59.94 to 60 fps.

Absolutely stick with 2x frame gen. Anything other than 2x or 4x causes all kinds of occasional stutters.
