I just purchased an RTX 5080. My current gpu is an RTX 4070ti. My 5080 arrives in two days and really all i use my gpu for is upscaling with topaz. 100% confession I am not on the latest version of Topaz Video AI or as it’s called now Topaz Video. After Topaz went to a subscription model i kept my local beta version of Topaz Video AI and don’t plan on upgrading to the subscription model because I heard from MANY users that it is now not worth the money. The beta version I have is v7.2.0.1.b. According to AI I should get about a 40 to 50% improvement in processing times but that seems kind of crazy. What has your experience been so far if you went from a 4070ti to a 5080? FYI 95% of the time I’m just using 2x proteus or 2x artemis and sometimes converting the vids from 30 fps to 60fps also it’s usually 1080p to 4K.
Running an older beta is not recommended as it was not meant to work for an extended period of time and was designed to test before the full release.
With that said, you can check out the user benchmark pages for the version 7 releases and see what some users have seen from the internal benchmark runs with various cards as an idea. Since 7.2.0.1.b was more of a hybrid test between version 7 and the release of Topaz Video version 1, they will be close enough for an idea.
Hi Misguided Ghost.
I’m afraid you’re been a bit misguided there, the fact is as a previous owner of Topaz Video AI, the Price for Topaz Video, would have remained the same as it would have been if you Upgraded every year and that same Price would be permanently fixed only, new owners who joined after the switch to Subscriptions will pay extra.
The reality is the reason Topaz Video cost more is because, it is more specialised and does a lot more with New AI Models Gaia 2 plus Nyx XL and that include the incredible Starlight lineup of AI Models.
Returning to being a previous owner if you also have either Topaz Photo AI or Gigapixel you would have full Founders Status with which you would receive access to all Topaz Image & Video Applications including Unlimited Cloud Image Rendering and 300 Video Credits worth around $75 every month for a mere $163 which is $13 more than the Topaz Video AI Subscription.
Another misconception, that is being touted by YouTubers who are often trying to persuade others to purchase this Program called AIarty and they imply it’s equal or better than Topaz.
However, always take this information they claim as exaggeration and with a little skepticism because, I own VideoProg Converter and received the AIarty suite Programs for free and believe me apart a little more automation they don’t come close to the results you get with the Topaz Apps.
If you want the best all round Image and Video Enhancement Applications without exception then yes the Subscription is certainly worth every penny.
Hope this helps
I’ve upgraded from 4070 (non-Ti) to 5080 and I’m happy as a clam.
With a bit of undervolting using MSI Afterburner you’ll get a good workhorse that doesn’t draw much power.
