Upgrade or Use Web Tools? Pros & Cons?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using Topaz Labs apps for a while and noticed they introduced web-based tools recently. I’m wondering whether it’s worth upgrading my apps or if I should just rely on the web versions.

Could anyone share the pros and cons of each? Specifically:

  • Are there performance or quality differences between the desktop and web tools?
  • Do the web tools have all the features of the desktop versions?
  • How do they compare in terms of speed, cost, and convenience?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences before making a decision. Thanks!

Currently, the web tools for video processing are just able to run Project Starlight, which requires cloud credits for processing.

On the Photo side, there are only a few models that can be run via the web and they also cost cloud credits.

Upgrading your apps will retain access to all of the models available there with more workflow options than the web portal currently offers.

Thank you very much for all the info provided! Have a great day! You’ve been of great help!
