Video AI (Legacy) Owners Opening Topaz Video (Subscription App)
If you previously purchased Video AI (perpetual license) and are now opening Topaz Video, this is expected behavior.
-
Topaz Video is subscription-based
-
A Video AI perpetual license does not activate Topaz Video
-
If you do not have an active Topaz Video subscription, the app will ask you to purchase
What to do
You’ll need to roll back to the Video AI version you own:
-
Go to your Studio Account Page
-
Download your owned Video AI (legacy) version
-
Install and sign in using your Topaz Labs account
This will restore access to the version covered by your perpetual license.
Topaz Video Subscribers Trying to Use Video AI (Legacy)
If you have an active Topaz Video subscription but are launching Video AI (legacy), it will appear in trial mode.
-
A Topaz Video subscription does not activate legacy Video AI
-
Video AI requires its own perpetual license
What to do
Make sure you are using Topaz Video, not Video AI:
-
Download Topaz Video from:
-
Your Studio Account Page
-
The release forum
-
-
Launch Topaz Video and sign in with the account tied to your subscription
Installed the Wrong App or Version
Many activation issues come down to installing the incorrect product.
Quick checks:
-
Topaz Video → Subscription required
-
Video AI (legacy) → Requires a perpetual license
-
Installing one will not activate the other
