It is called Agile approach development/delivery, with PIs and iterations. it is different to waterfall approach which has a different SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). the world in general slowly shifting aware from waterfall to the favorable Agile approach.
One thing I am struggling to understand is, how did you come to conclusion that the product is not stable?
the Product is considered stable based on the industry standards. the definition of stable product in Software release life Cycle. stable or release product is which has passed all stages of verification and tests. The remaining bugs are considered acceptable."
Most of the weekly iterations are enhancements and/or fixes of the previous released iterations.

The entire AI thingy out there in the world for whatever AI technology, rather ChatGPT, Stable diffusion, etc. and many other AIs in the industry is “Early Access”.
But yet the benefits of having it open for the public to use is far superior than keeping it hidden in the development pipeline to reach perfection state.

I disabled the user tips but they appeared anyway today. Not only this, they continously blocked parts of the preview. Also I often can not set the zoom level to 50 % for the full view unless I switch to the split view where I am able to set 50 % for couriosity and then switch back to full preview where the 50 % view persists fortunately. :eyes:

And one more thing everyone else did not mention. AI is very hardware dependent. Digital videos are too (Only on modern machines, there are built-in chips and such to deal with the most common forms of digital videos).
There is no physical way that Topaz can account for all the less-than-good hardware configurations that exist. In fact, even of the good hardware combinations, they can only have a few to test on before release. A quick look through the product page mentions ‘Modern home workstation’ a few times. I agree. They can’t really do much better than say that.

Now that I’ve said that. I feel like this linked page needs a serious update. I seem to remember most people with Radeon 400s and even 500s have not been getting TVAI to work.

The Second Pass Enhancement is almost perfect.
If only there was an option to use a deinterlace mode that only deinterlaces but doesn’t apply any enhancements and be able to use other models such as Proteus or Artemis for the Second Pass Enhancement.

In TVAI v3.4.2 (Mac), the web page reached by clicking Help / Product Roadmap is:
https://community.topazlabs.com/t/video-roadmap-update-march-2023/41570
which shows the March 2023 roadmap. At the moment the August 2023 roadmap is current (https://community.topazlabs.com/t/dynamic-compression-for-h264-h265-august-2023/50214/2)
I suggest to make the Help / Product Roadmap link more generic, so it points to the latest roadmap rather than a specific month’s roadmap (which clearly get outdated quickly). Or point to the general video roadmap page (https://community.topazlabs.com/c/video-ai/video-ai-roadmap/) that lists the recent roadmaps.

The “disable new user tips” setting currently only applies to the messages that show when the app is installed for the first time.

We could add a preference to disable all tooltips if that would be a useful addition for experienced users.

Topaz GUI team, please fix the GUI showing stabilization passes as pass ‘0’ and pass ‘1’ of 2. It should be ‘1’ and ‘2’ of 2. Reported multiple times, can be fixed in 30 seconds yet it’s still an issue after several months. Surely someone cares enough to fix it besides me?

Thanks

I watched the video, but all the examples were photos. I’d like to see at least one example of a 480p video frame enhanced to 4K.

Yay another update.

Please bring back the feature where I could see multiple versions of filters in preview mode BEFORE it rendered the preview. I’m flying blind with these 5-30 sec single preview windows.
Also I hope this bug was fixed because in the last release when the video was about 95% rendered for a full video it would say 0s left even though it was still rendering. It needs to be realtime countdown or the closest approximation to it and not freeze. 0s left does not help me at all when I need to know when the task will be complete.

I am about to try out v3.42 for the first time. My thoughts afterward.

Also can we add export as .AVI support? I could do without any compression of VHS sources. I know it’s too much for some people but I have terabytes of space so it’s not a problem.

Oh, that’s the normal behaviour.
100% ready but still working for a solid couple of minutes.

When will the full screen/taskbar issue be resolved (Windows)?

I have a video file that continously produces the red cross error message no matter if I convert it before, de-interlace it before or crop it before processing via Video a. i. Here are the log files.
logsForSupport.tar.gz (435.1 KB)

Don’t think its capable of doing video yet. But photo work looks amazing

I know not processing the video like TVAI, but single frame taken from 480P video, like TIFF or PNG format and then run it through the tool.

Yeah. Black magic releases their public beta that is parallel to full releases and every public beta is more stable than most Topaz full releases. Its one thing to keep the updates coming, its another to have some base level standards. Topaz really needs to focus more on stability and bug fixes, and focus on beta or alpha versions in parallel for those who want to be testers. Topaz Video AI v3.4.2 pre-beta release is the appropriate name. I am tired of reinstalling all the time, not knowing what bugs it has.

Just installed latest update. When loading images I now find that they are rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise.
