Is there a way to use QTCMG deinterlacing with nyx 2 ?
Only through an external tool, such as Hybrid.
Deinterlace with an external tool, then treat the deinterlaced video with Nyx 2 via TVAI.
itās a two step process.
Topaz currently supports only Bwdif deinterlacing in their Video AI tool.
I got 50 years old Super-8 film rolls digitized into 1440x1080 18fps Video footage.
My intend is to upscale that footage into 4k 30fps.
Off course digitalization of analog film cause a degradation in sharpness, color, dynamics, which has to get compensated.
I tried to do that by TVAI in one stroke HD 18 fps ā 4k 30fps stabilized and denoised.
What a frustration!!!
Especially small details in the tiny Super-8 frames got worse by TVAI regardless of any Preset setting I tried! Also āMotion Deblurā, āFrame interpolationā delivered strange output.
Therefore I went back to the conventional process which Iām familiar with (MAGIX video deluxe Pro 2024), cleaned the raw 1440 18fps footage (Denoise, Sharpness, Color, Dynamics, Stabilization) and upscaled without jerks to 4k 30fps.
With that ācleanā material I went back into TVAI, but deactivated all setting except Enhancement Step 1 ā Proteus (Relative to Auto) and Step2 ā IRIS(also Relative to Auto).
The result still is not perfect but acceptable: No monster faces, no artifacts, no jerks.
What a long way to come to that minimal result. TOPAZ still has a mileage to go to meat user expectation raised by AI marketing. They should focus to improve small resolution subjects by better trained AI models instead to confuse customers by āinnovatedā UIs
Amen pal. Iāve been preaching this for a while nowā¦

Nyx 2 does a very good work. But if i uupscale a very dark and noisy SD video Topay seems to convert the color range from Rec. 601 to Rec 701 or Rec 2020. The results are very dark scenes. Is it possible to fix the color range or luminance to the original value?
