So, after further inspection:
- SL mini seems now fully usable here on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 64GB of RAM (48GB VRAM).
- speed is low but that was expected (0.3 fps for a SD 2x upscale)
- SL mini currently uses LOTS of RAM (up to 62GB) and by that makes the Mac a little sluggish at times (which I never had before)
- quality is considerably up from the last Beta and now comes close to the NVidia 7.0.2 release, not yet fully on par.
- cloud rendering took MUCH too long (2h 1m 19s) for a simple 2 minutes clip. The local rendering was finished in 2h 35m52s. Although Cloud rendering had a higher resolution of 1572x1080 (vs. 1048x720 for the local one). Cloud rendering looks about identical to the local 7.0.2 one
For comparison a few screenshots:
- original:
- SLM 7.2.0.2.b MAC:
Ugh. Hardly an improvement if at all… - SLM 7.2.0.3.b MAC:
…now we’re getting somewhere - SLM 7.0.2 release NVIDIA:
the benchmark - SLM cloud (took 150 credits away from me):
One additional note: I could NOT test SL sharp here: it just says “Cloud export disabled” - even though it is enabled in the settings and does work for SL mini?
P.S.: I did get the crash upon exit this time again (which is a behavior that affected about ALL last Betas for the Mac)
