Topaz Video AI 7.1.4 + 7.1.5

The pause feature is still included in 7.1.4 for use as it was before. Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing or send it to the support team at help@topazlabs.com?

I paid 149 Euro on August 11 2025 to receive one year of model updates for Topaz Video AI. So far there hasn’t been one model update since. Now you tell me, that there won’t be any model updates for Topaz Video AI any longer. So: I want my money back.

Hello, I read Henry’s announcement signed by you and have some questions.

  1. If this is the last release of the Video AI product
.where are the “exciting things” you talked about in the 7.1.3 thread?

  2. If they are not included in this release, then is it correct to assume that they will not be released until video AI is subsumed into this new overall studio product?

  3. I really don’t use any of the other topaz products as I am a simple home user not in a video\photo editing studio. Will this new studio be priced similar to what I am paying now for video AI?

  4. Alternately will there be a way to simply pay a subscription for certain portions of the studio?

  5. Lastly, the feature I want most from video AI is starlight mini
.. will that model continue to function as it does now even if I do not choose to participate with a subscription to this new Studio?

Thank you for any clarification.

Everyone that’s ill about the new policy; have you contacted TL’s Customer Support regarding your refund request?

A full refund merely restores the purchaser to the position they would have been in had the transaction not occurred. It does not place them in the position they would be in had TL not engaged in deceptive conduct.

I knew I shouldn’t have upgraded to 7.1.4

Starlight Mini gets stuck at finalizing. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem?

I’ve already completely reinstalled Topaz Video AI once and deleted everything in the process. It also downloads the nearly 4 GB file without any issues, as well as the 7.9 MB file. But then it just hangs on the screen

Grammy, you have 24 GB of GPU? , I’m jealous, my laptop GeForce RTX with only 6gb. cant run starlite mini. and $1,000+ for 8gb to run it is out of range. cash wise, id bet 8gb is slow as a snail? Wont ask what your system cost.

Mine hung for a solid minute
.then said “Installed”

You don’t get a new screen
. It’s a little strange.

I think other folks have run into this as well, and if you sit on it a while
. Go have a cup of coffee
.. It just may clear up by itself.

If the model hasn’t changed, we shouldn’t be reinstalling starlight mini anyway
.

But what do I know
.

I have two PCs. One always asks me to reinstall starlight mini the other one never does.

It’s weird.

I have the same problem. Everything works perfectly with version 7.1.1. With versions 7.1.3 and 7.1.4, SLM loads but then freezes.

I left the window open for a good hour. It remains to be finalized.
I haven’t had this problem with the betas and other versions so far. At least not to this extent.

ich auch.. genau das selbe
:frowning:

Uninstall version 7.14 even with the models folder by clicking “YES”, when finished delete the Models folder from this path C:\ProgramData\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI\models. Now install version 7.11 download Starlight Mini and when it is finished uninstall this version being careful to click “NO” when it asks you to remove the models, then install version 7.14 again, Starlight Mini will download to complement the part that had already been downloaded with version 7.11 and will finish without problems.

after several user reported SLm download problems, it seems to be they didn’t fixed this and worsening SLm download, that’s strange

Another question popped into my head about this being the last version of topaz video AI and topaz moving to a studio model with a subscription
.

Will we ever see a Mac and AMD version of starlight mini if we stay in 7.1.4 and not choose to go any farther with a Studio subscription?

Would seem a bit “not right” if we have to do the subscription to get that feature as the feature was basically “promised” with TVAI.

But what do I know

Not speaking here in any official capacity, but from what I’ve read, the answer is no. AMD and Apple users with only a ‘perpetual’ license will not have access to local Starlight processing.

This version fails much more than the last one. DO NOT UPGRADE until/or if they fix it.

I dunno

.

But if you are going to drop a hammer
.

A bombshell on existing customers

Then at the same time you give concrete evidence of
.

Don’t worry
THIS is what we are replacing your existing experience with.

With THIS
With THAT

And it will cost you THIS MUCH.

And HERE is what you will see as improvements.

And your existing license subscription can convert THIS WAY.

And just a hell of a lot more details than vague promises of “exciting things”
..with zero details except “this will be the final version of Topaz Video AI.”

The whole thing should’ve been announced when the company had something ready to wow their customer base and justify the change.

Not a preliminary bombshell with zero details
..except bad.

But what do I know?

yep, same here.

I always do this anyways as it’s quite a bit faster overall - and you have the full installer file on your computer for archiving.
Plus, that way you can easily install the new version together with the old one (just rename the old app to TVAI_old or something).

Virenschutz/Firwall ist das problem! GrĂŒĂŸe
