Topaz Video AI 6.0.1

I’m wondering, RheaXL is complete different compared to Iris

Where did you read this?

I’ve been holding out waiting for a new model release that would make the software worth paying for again, because if we ignore the mess that is the UI itself, the actual models are pretty awesome. And that they based it all on ffmpeg by writing the VAI engine as a filter was brilliant in my opinion, since it means I as a customer am isolated from whatever happens to the UI. As such the models are what I’m paying for (or prepared to pay for). That’s why I’m very concerned if the above is true or has some merit, which in turn would mean it needs to be traceable to some source I could assess the veracity of myself, So if you have some links, please share. If you don’t want to post here, then PM me directly plz.

I never understood what negative values do. I’ve assumed Zero means off (identity transform). Does negative mean inverting the effect? I.e. that Sharpen -X is the same as Deblur +X.

I can tell you Topaz Labs is moving and currently have quite a few job openings. Their new place is 15 miles north in Addison, TX.

no and yes. Deblur levler does it, but not all parameters, for example negative values of sharpen does not blur and negative denoise does not add noise, is my observation with models, but maybe it is different with NYX and all takes effect? Could be, but I don’t know I have no tested yet.

The DFW metroplex is 225 square miles of hot asphalt and concrete, with lousy road design thrown in. If you have multiple choices of good employment locations, Texas would be the last place to pick. If you own a home in Texas, count on property taxes looking like a second mortgage that never goes away. Texas has some of the highest property taxes in the nation, while subsidizing the wealthy with no corporate tax whatsoever and one of the lowest franchise tax rates anywhere.

In relative to auto mode, if sharpen auto calculates that the value for the frame should be 100, but you have it set to -75 it will reduce that value of 100 by 75 percent, so it would apply 25 to sharpen. You can turn off sliders by putting them to -100.
Then you get to the last slider. I’m not sure how that one works because it can evaluate to a negative value. The logic is probably the same, but now there’s no way to turn off the slider.

After using TVAI for more than two years, the result If you Give TVAI a good footage he will give you a better scene. and If you give him a bad Footage he will give you a worse scene
